WHY FRAUNCES TAVERN and THE MET:

Sophie Kaye photographed the collection on location at Fraunces Tavern — the Lower Manhattan tavern where George Washington bid farewell to his officers on December 4, 1783 — and at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, home to one of the world’s most significant collections of American Revolutionary‑era decorative arts and portraiture.

Every piece began as a study of a specific artwork or artifact.

One location is where the Revolution was lived; the other is where its art has been preserved.

The REVOLUTION Collection exists in the space between the two.

I designed these earrings to echo the warm, wood‑toned glow of the Deborah Barrette — candlelit topaz and golden shadow that flatter every skin tone.
